A note about your past

In this world, it is always human against human. It is always digging into someone’s past, reminding them of where they came from – the mistakes that they made, and the amends they failed to make. Peoplehave become obsessed with opening wounds thataren’t theirs, making you believe that you deserve tosuffer some way. The reality, however, is that we areall human, and it is in human nature to make mistakes. It’s okay if in the past you did something wrong. It’s okay if you were a different person you don’t wish to name anymore. This is all part of growing – making mistakes and learning. Wronging doesn’t mean being taunted life-long, or being reminded as you go along.

You don’t deserve pain. You don’t deserve to be treatedwrong, or hold burdens against your chest. Mistakes don’t mean you don’t deserve happiness. To all those who say your past defines you, they are wrong. They don’t know why you made certain decisions. They don’t know what was playing your heart that very second. They don’t know of the nights you cried over it, or repented, or apologised over it. You deserve to be happy, smile, and be free. Stay true to yourself, clear your heart, and move forward. The people who pull you back, don’t matter.
